Thomas Devore

Thomas H. Devore, 81, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Dec. 26.

He was born March 12, 1931, in Homestead to the late Thomas A. and Mary E. Koval Devore.

Mr. Devore was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was in management at U.S. Steel's Saxonburg Sintering Plant for 29 years, retiring in 1984.

Mr. Devore was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 53 of Lower Burrell where he volunteered his time. He also belonged to the VFW and American Legion posts in Lower Burrell.

He enjoyed staying at his camp in Slippery Rock and working on and fixing up trucks. An animal lover, he will be greatly missed by his cat Gabby.

Surviving are his loving wife of seven years, Edna L. Hetrick Devore; beloved son Thomas H. (Donna Hoderowski) Devore, Jr.; cherished grandson, Austin Thomas Devore; and his devoted sister, Dolores Daugherty of Butler.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Devore, and Richard Devore, in infancy.
