Shirley J. Glasgow Renick
Shirley J. Glasgow Renick, 87, of West Sunbury went to be with the Lord Friday surrounded by her family and her pastor, Rev. Dennis Hindman.
Shirley was born May 6, 1925, in New Wilmington, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Leroy Kauffman and the late Edna Jean Anderson Kauffman. She was the beloved wife of Arthur J. Renick for 31 years.
She was a member of the Rider Lutheran Church and was the organist there for many years. She also sang in the choir at the church. She was a volunteer for VA Butler Healthcare.
She loved spending time with her family. She loved feeding her cats, feeding the birds, gardening, cooking, baking, playing cards, listening to music, watching Lawrence Welk with Arthur, singing, spending time with her church family and chocolate. She spent 25 wonderful winters in Florida with her loving husband, Arthur.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Arthur J. Renick; her children, William Glasgow and his wife, Janet, of Pittsfield, Pa., Don Glasgow and his wife, Diane, of West Sunbury, Mark Glasgow and his wife, Karen, of Cranberry Township, Carolyn Rodgers and her husband, Richard, of Chicora, Ruth Malinak of West Sunbury and Susan Wegrzynek and her husband, Mike, of Grove City; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one sister, Geraldine Faulhaber and her husband, Bob, of Florida; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Kauffman, the wife of the late Lee Kauffman; two stepdaughters, Pamela Lehere and her husband, Lawrence, of Butler and Sharon Elter, and her husband, James, of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.
Shirley will be missed by all.
Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband, William M. Glasgow; three of her children, Robert, who was killed in 1969 while serving in Vietnam; Thomas, who died October 2011 and Kathleen, who died September 2012; two stepdaughters, Susan and Carol; and one stepgrandson, Stephen.
RENICK — Friends of Shirley J. Glasgow Renick, who passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, will be received at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.Funeral services will be held at the Rider Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Dennis Hindman, her pastor, officiating.Burial will be in the Rider Church Cemetery.
