Butler Little Theatre opens “Italian American Reconciliation,” about life in an Italian-American family, Friday at One Howard St.

Curtain is at 8:15 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The play runs through Jan. 26.

Tickets are $10 and available by calling 724-287-6781 between 7 and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and during shows.

The Art Center, 344 S. Main St., hosts an exhibit to benefit the Butler County Humane Society from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday.Two seniors from Moniteau High School have chosen the Humane Society as the recipient of their charitable senior project. The young women have created art from photographs they have taken of some of the shelter animals and are presenting it at the show, along with a Chinese auction, live entertainment, and animals from the BCHS.Call 724-789-1150 for more information.

ADAMS TWP — Opus I Music Society continues its study of Broadway musicals with “The Golden Age of Broadway” at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Mars Alliance Church, Route 228.The history of musicals from “Oklahoma!” to “The Sound of Music” will be presented by Linda Johnson, Opus I's program chairman.Live musical selections will include pieces from the above musicals as well as “Carousel,” “South Pacific,” “West Side Story” and “The King and I” performed by Kristy Arvanitas, Jeannie Allen, Julia Cummings, Tim Cummings, Ana Johnson and Margie Rinaman.Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

PITTSBURGH — “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” will be presented by the Unseam'd Shakespeare Company Feb. 14 to March 2 at the Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre, 937 Liberty Ave.All 37 plays will be covered in 97 minutes in this irreverent, fast-paced romp through Shakespeare's works.Curtain is at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays with an additional showing at 10:30 p.m. Fridays and March 2.Tickets will be available Feb. 1 and are $23 in advance or $25 at the door.
