PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Rob McClellan of Butler Country Club and Sonny Skinner of Sylvester, Ga. were one of four teams tied for first place with a 10-under 62 after the first round of the 55th annual PGA Senior-Junior Championship Monday at the PGA Golf Club.

None of the four twosomes made a bogey in the four-ball stroke-play format.

Skinner — the PGA Senior Professional player of the Year the past three years — and McClellan were runners-up at this event last year.

Sylvester and McClellan played on the Ryder Course along with Chris Dachisen and Frank Esposito, both of New Jersey. The other two teams — Gene Fieger and Justin Bertsch of Florida and Bill Stines and Andrew Montgomery of Ohio — carded their 62s on the Wanamaker and Dye courses, respectively.

Each twosome will play one round on each course after which there will be a cut to the low 40 and tied for the final round Thursday on the Wanamaker.

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State freshman goaltender Jake Hildebrand, a graduate of Butler High School, was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Warrior Goaltender of the Week.Hildebrand stopped 65 of 67 shots in a split over the weekend. He made 32 saves in a 1-0 loss to Notre Dame Friday, the goal coming on a power play.On Saturday, Hildebrand, who is a candidate for the Hobey Baker Award as the sport's top collegiate player, made 33 saves in 4-1 triumph over the Fighting Irish.

LOCK HAVEN — Slippery Rock University senior guard Erinne Cunningham was named PSAC-West women's basketball Athlete of the Week.Cunningham scored 10 points in The Rock's 58-46 victory over East Stroudsburg Friday, then added 23 points in Saturday's 66-60 win over Kutztown.
