William J. Stewart, 90, of Penn Township died Monday evening at Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.

Born May 21, 1922, in Chicora, he was a son of the late Earl M. Stewart and Anna (Donaldson) Stewart.

He was a master carpenter, working for Step Saver Kitchens for 33 years and retiring in 1982. Also, he had owned and operated the Bakerstown Nursery on Route 8.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his six children, Mary Philips, William Stewart, Gerald Stewart, David Stewart, Sue Stewart and Sherri Fischer; and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Marie (Honifer) Stewart, who died June 9, 1977; two brothers; and one sister.

STEWART — Friends of William J. Stewart, who died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mars Cemetery.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
