Donald Burdette Hoffman

Donald Burdette Hoffman, 64, of Slippery Rock, Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, passed away at his home at 8 p.m. Monday.

He was born in Grove City on Dec. 5, 1948, to J. (Jackson) Burdette Hoffman and Martha E. Gurney Hoffman.

He married Lori Ann Meyer on June 11, 1988.

He was a machinist and had worked for Herr-Voss in Callery.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served in Vietnam.

He enjoyed hunting and having a good time with his family and friends.

His survivors include his wife, Lori A. Hoffman of Slippery Rock; three daughters, Emily D. Hoffman, Samantha D. Hoffman and Sarah D. Hoffman, all of Slippery Rock; and four sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Connelley of Cranberry Township, Virginia “Ginny” Lance of Karns City, Joann and her husband, Albert, Bonetti of Slippery Rock and Marilyn “Putty” and her husband, Doug, Arblaster of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

HOFFMAN — Friends of Donald Burdette Hoffman, who died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, will be received at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Visitation will continue from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the West Liberty United Methodist Church, 135 Church Road, Slippery Rock, where a service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Lewis, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will be at Slippery Rock Cemetery, Slippery Rock Township. Full military services will be observed at the cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Charitable Service Trust, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Springs, KY 41076.
