HARMONY — Harmony Museum's annual Harmoniefest dinner and program will be Feb. 16 in Stewart Hall, 218 Mercer St.

The evening will include an illustrated presentation by authors of the recently published “The Civil War in Pennsylvania: A Photographic History.” Books will be available for purchase and signing.

PITTSBURGH — You can preserve a snowball now and take it to the Carnegie Science Center on the summer solstice, June 21, to name your own general admission price. In addition, participants will be able to launch the snowballs into the Ohio River. For information, call 412-237-3400.

The Associated Artists of Butler County offers two professional art classes by watercolor artists Bill Perry and Peggi Habets.Perry's class will begin Monday and continue each Monday for a total of six weeks. Each class will be held weather permitting, from 9 a.m. to noon at his home studio in Harmony. Cost is $90 and advance payment is required.Habets will conduct a one-day watercolor workshop “Creating Stories Without Words,” focusing on design and composition techniques, color and other tools. The class is suitable for people with fundamental drawing skills and some painting experience.The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 20 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2040 Washington Road, Upper St. Clair. PITTSBURGH — Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens will soon change its colors for the Orchid and Tropical Bonsai Show, opening Jan. 12.For anyone looking to grow their own flowers, the show will provide tips gardeners can implement at home.The show will run through Feb. 24. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and until 10 p.m. on Fridays. Admission is $15 for adults, $14 for senior citizens and students, and $11 for children ages 2 to 18.
