The evening will include an illustrated presentation by authors of the recently published “The Civil War in Pennsylvania: A Photographic History.” Books will be available for purchase and signing.

The Associated Artists of Butler County offers two professional art classes by watercolor artists Bill Perry and Peggi Habets.Perry's class will begin Monday and continue each Monday for a total of six weeks. Each class will be held weather permitting, from 9 a.m. to noon at his home studio in Harmony. Cost is $90 and advance payment is required.Habets will conduct a one-day watercolor workshop “Creating Stories Without Words,” focusing on design and composition techniques, color and other tools. PITTSBURGH — Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens will soon change its colors for the Orchid and Tropical Bonsai Show, opening Jan. 12.For anyone looking to grow their own flowers, the show will provide tips gardeners can implement at home.The show will run through Feb. 24. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and until 10 p.m. on Fridays. Admission is $15 for adults, $14 for senior citizens and students, and $11 for children ages 2 to 18.
