Marcus G. Lenehan
Marcus G. Lenehan, 93, of Greensburg, formerly of Cranberry Township, passed away Tuesday while in the comfort of his daughter's home.
Born Oct. 14, 1919, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Marcus F. and Helen Marie (Dickson) Lenehan.
Marcus proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army under Gen. Patton.
He played semi-professional football and was a semi-professional boxer. He was the owner of the M.F. Lenehan Ice & Coal Co. in Pittsburgh for many years. He proudly served as the chief of security at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople for more than 20 years. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
He is survived by his three children, Tom Lenehan of Cranberry Township, Danny Lenehan and his wife, Sue, of Canonsburg and Janice Lindsay and her husband, Scott, of Greensburg; his four grandchildren, Erinne Roach and her husband, Christian, Brianna and Shawn Lenehan and Christopher Lenehan; and his great-granddaughter, Riley Roach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Gladys Lenehan, Julia G. Lenehan and Eileen A. (Nemeth) Lenehan; and his sister, Margaretta Brindle.
LENEHAN — Marcus G. Lenehan passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012. The Lenehan family will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with Father Lawrence R. Smith, celebrant.
