Sylvia Alice Williams, 73, of Slippery Rock Township passed away at her home at 5:30 a.m. Monday.

She was born in Harrisville, Mercer Township, on Aug. 11, 1939, to Robert Ayers “Gummy” Gilmore and Alice Irene Snyder Gilmore.

She married William Clinton West, who preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1973. She later married William Charles Williams, who preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 2005.

She was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. She was a member of the Harrisville Branch Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Robin E. Smith of Durham, N.C., Gwen E. West of Slippery Rock and Amanda J. Hartshorn (Thomas) of West Middlesex; one son, W. Bryan West and his companion, Cindy Kendall, of Slippery Rock; one sister, Mary Jane Fryman (Richard) of Slippery Rock; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one sister, Shirley Harrison; and an infant son, Matthew.

WILLIAMS — Private services for Sylvia Alice Williams, who passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, will be held by the family. The interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
