David A. Stillwagon

David A. Stillwagon, 63, who lived in Harrisville since 2008, died at 9:40 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Specialty Care Center in Mars, where he had been since April. He had been suffering an illness since February.

Born in Grove City on Aug. 22, 1949, he was the son of Harold W. Stillwagon and Margaret Whitehouse Stillwagon.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he was enlisted for 21 years. Following his Air Force retirement, he was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Omaha, Neb., for 14 years.

He was a member of the Branchton United Methodist Church, Branchton, Butler County. David was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School, Class of 1967, and Bellevue University, Bellevue, Neb., with a B.S. in management and human resources. David was a member of the American Legion Post 852, Harrisville, and the VFW Post 519, Grove City.

Survivors include, two sons, Patrick D. Stillwagon and his wife, Kristin, and Christopher J. Stillwagon and his wife, Emily, all of Omaha, Neb.; one granddaughter, Hailey Jo Stillwagon; his mother, Margaret M. Stillwagon of Harrisville; one sister, Barbara Jean McKean of Harrisville; and one sister-in-law, Ann Stillwagon of Grove City.

He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Donald L. Stillwagon in 1990 and H. Wayne Stillwagon in 2009; one brother-in-law, Robert Michael McKean; and one nephew, Bobby McKean.

STILLWAGON — Visitation for David A. Stillwagon, who died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Lewis, pastor of Branchton United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
