Sally Thompson

Sally Thompson, 89, of Butler died Saturday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 17, 1923, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Hannah (Edmunds) Morrow.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church in Butler. Sally belonged to several card clubs in the Butler area, including the Slippery Rock Bridge Club and the Duffy Road Club. Also, for many years, she enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners and holiday dinners for her family. She will be remembered lovingly as Mom, Grandma, G.G. and Grandma Sally.

Surviving are her three children, Suzanne Seybert of Butler, William A. (Nancy) Thompson Jr. of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., and Robert L. (Kathy) Thompson of Butler; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John “Jack” (Lois) Morrow of New Castle and Elmer (Doris) Morrow of Williamsport, Pa.; one sister, Justyne Houston of New Castle; two sisters-in-law, Barb (Sal) Tate of Hermitage, Pa., and Agnes Morris of New Castle; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Thompson Sr., who she married Jan. 10, 1944, and who died July 8, 2000; her twin daughters, Sandra Wilson and Linda Sheakley; and one brother, Tom Morrow.

THOMPSON — Friends of Sally Thompson, who died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Her pastor, the Rev. Clark Sawyer, will officiate.Her family requests that memorial donations be made to the Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 2nd St., Butler, PA 16001.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
