Butler Little Theatre will present the comic folktale “Italian American Reconciliation” by John Patrick Shanley from Jan. 18 to 26 at the theater at One Howard St.

Winter Trails Day scheduledBRADY TWP — Celebrate Winter Trails Day, a free introduction to winter sports at Jennings Environmental Education Center, will be Jan. 12.Two snowshoeing programs for age 8 and older and two cross-country skiing programs for age 12 and older will be conducted during the day. A morning snowshoeing session from 10 a.m. to noon will be repeated in the afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. Each session will include an introduction to the sport and a winter activity hike. Snowshoe equipment will be provided, although personal equipment is welcomed.Concurrently, a cross-country skiing session will be conducted from 10 a.m. to noon and then from 1 to 3 p.m. Participants must bring and use their own or rented cross-country ski equipment.Registration is required no later than Jan. 9. Science Center holds MessFestPITTSBURGH — Carnegie Science Center is breaking out its messiest activities to kick off 2013 with a plop, splash, squish and fizz during MessFest on New Year’s Day.MessFest will feature a variety of hands-on activities from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors will have a chance to try out the slimy oobleck, the Egg Drop activity, finger painting, create their own soil and make sidewalk chalk.MessFest activities are included in the price of regular admission, which is $17.95 for adults and $11.95 for children ages 3 to 12.
