A Letter To My Mother

Mom,

This will be the fourteenth Christmas that we will not celebrate together. It would also have been your 95th birthday. How I wish that you could have been here to celebrate this milestone in your life. But, God had other plans, and took you home to share his birthday with Him.

As I sit here writing this, I am remembering Christmases past when we were all together as a family. We all shared in the giving and receiving of gifts, good food, sounds of laughter, and just the fact that we were all together. Life seems to change so quickly, you never know just what lies ahead.

So on this Christmas Day, 2012, I just want to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday and to let you know that you are not forgotten and will never be forgotten. You are in my thoughts both day and night. Just knowing that you are at peace and hopefully have been reunited with Dad is just about the best Christmas gift I could ever hope for!
