A Families Forever seminar, offered by Lifesteps, will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at Lifesteps, 300 Stirling Village. Enrollment officially closes Monday.

The seminar teaches parents how to minimize the negative effects on children involved in divorce and/or custody situations.

Lifesteps will provide free Child Check screenings from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Jan. 7 at the Butler YMCA, 339 N. Washington St., and on Jan. 28 at Lifesteps Butler County Program Center, 383 New Castle Road.Screenings evaluate the child's development in the areas of playing, talking, seeing, hearing, moving and thinking.Appointments are recommended but not required.
