Carolyn L. Merz
Carolyn L. Merz, 68, of Butler passed away Tuesday at her home.
She was born Jan. 24, 1944, in Pittsburgh, and she was the daughter of the late Charles F. Merz and Olga (Kulback) Merz.
Carolyn attended the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. She retired as a nurse and worked for CDS at the Cranberry Costco. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa (Leland) Claus of Butler; two sons, Joseph A. “Tony” (Gina) Alfano Jr. of Cranberry Township and Frank N. Alfano of Baltimore, Md.; six grandchildren, Leland Jr., Brad and Melissa Claus, Joey and Maria Alfano and Quinten Kline-Alfano; two sisters, Charlotte (Ted) Stecko of Butler and Patty Kenaan of Butler; and two brothers, Butch Merz of Colorado and Len Merz of Zelienople.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
MERZ — Friends of Carolyn L. Merz, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, will be received at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Ext., Butler, at 10 a.m. Monday. A private interment will be in the Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
