Flags in state lowered to honor shooting victims

HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania flags across the state are being lowered to half-staff at state buildings in honor of the Connecticut school shooting victims and their families.

Gov. Tom Corbett ordered the action Friday afternoon.

Corbett and his wife, Susan, extended their condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the tragedy. He says that, as parents themselves, they cannot imagine anything more horrific than such a violent, senseless act committed against children.

The governor’s order will remain in effect until sundown Tuesday.
