Kathryn Agnes McCartan
Kathryn Agnes McCartan, 93, of Grove Manor Nursing Home, Grove City, formerly of Portersville and Seminole, Fla., passed away at 3:40 a.m. Saturday at Grove Manor Nursing Home, Grove City.
She was born in McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, on March 27, 1919, to Anthony Rodgers and Kathryn Rodgers.
She married John McCartan on Aug. 15, 1941, and he died March 7, 1994.
She was a 1937 graduate of Stowe High School, McKees Rocks. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are one son, David A. (Elsie) McCartan of Portersville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband and one son, Leland McCartan.
MCCARTAN — Kathryn Agnes McCartan passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012. Visitation will be at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.Services will be at the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 670 S. Main St., Slippery Rock, at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Father Kevin Poecking, pastor of the St. Peter Church, officiating. Interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
