Blair

Gilbert Blair, 81, of Valencia, formerly of Wexford, passed away Friday.

Born Jan. 9, 1931, in Dundee, Scotland, he was the son of the late John Elliot and Edith (Young) Blair.

He was the beloved husband for 31 years of Doris (Repine) Blair; the father of Fiona (Dan) Sowers of Valencia and Andrew (Jane) Blair of Florida; the stepfather of Pete (Bonnie Bock) Dattilo of Wexford, Dariann (Frederic) Rose of New Jersey and Jim (DeAnna) Dattilo of Franklin Park; the brother of Douglas Blair and Muriel (Watson) Wilson of Scotland; the stepbrother of Helen (Jerry) Clark of Ohio, Margo (George) Steinsdoerfer of Shaler and Paul (Kay) Repine of Lancaster; the grandfather of Kelsey, Scott and Luke Sowers, and Matt and Holly Blair; and the stepgrandfather of Juliette and Melanie Rose, and Justin Dattilo.

Gilbert was a longtime engineer with the Dravo Corp. He enjoyed bagpipes, his homeland of Scotland and was tremendously proud of becoming a U.S. citizen. A kind and caring gentleman, Gilbert loved the Lord Jesus Christ and his beloved wife, children and beautiful grandchildren.

BLAIR — The family of Gilbert Blair, who died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Services will be held at Northway Christian Community at 11 a.m. Monday.
