Gary King

Gary Ray King Sr. of Butler passed away Monday at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit.

He was born July 20, 1938, in Butler, and he was the son of the late Mont and Viola (Cramer) King.

Gary worked as a coal miner for 25 years. He loved animals, enjoyed fishing, boating, being outdoors, woodworking and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Karen King, who he married April 16, 2001; three daughters, Sharon (Mark) McLaughlin, Brenda King and Tammy Jo King, all of Butler; a son, Gary R. King Jr. of Utah; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Janet McCaw of Butler, Delores Bennett of Nixon, Pa., and Judith Morgan of Butler; one brother, Donald (Daneen) King of Butler; three stepdaughters, Jacqueline (Steven) Curtis of Prospect, Lisa (David) Rodino of Harrisonburg, Va., and Jennifer Huselton of Butler; a stepson, James Smythe IV of Butler; and six stepgrandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

KING — Visitation for Gary Ray King Sr., who passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, will be at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 10 a.m. Friday until the memorial service celebrating Gary's life begins at 11 a.m. with Pastor Richard Jenks of the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church officiating.Private interment will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.Contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Road, Suite 320, Wexford, PA 15090.For more information, go to www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
