Isabelle Sugarick

Isabelle May Graham Sugarick, 89, born May 2, 1923, in Queensland, Australia, formerly of Gibsonia and Chicora, passed away Sept. 17, 2012, in Townsville, Australia.

May came to the United States as an Australian war bride married to Robert Lee Graham, who preceded her in death. She raised seven children.

She worked for numerous families as a caretaker for their loved ones. In 1966, she began working at Pittsburgh Cut Flower and worked there until her retirement in 1983. May was an avid gardener, growing gladiolas which she often donated to the surrounding churches and nursing homes for all to enjoy.

Following the passing of her second husband, Joseph Sugarick, she began traveling back to Australia to visit her surviving family. She met her companion, Kenneth Collett in 1989, who preceded her in death. In 1994, she permanently returned to live in Australia until her death.

She is survived by a brother, John, and a sister, Betty, of Queensland, Australia; her children, Ronald and Leonie Graham of Butler, Cheryll and Tom Brown of Chicora, Bobby Lee and Sharon Graham of Maple Heights, Ohio, and Barbara Ryan of Queensland, Australia; and daughter-in-law, MaryAnn Graham of Gibsonia. She also is survived by 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sons, Brian Graham of McKeesport and Geoffrey Graham of Gibsonia; a daughter, Christine Graham of Gibsonia; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

SUGARICK — Isabelle May Graham Sugarick passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2012.A memorial service for her family and many friends will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at the Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 W. Old 422, Butler, with the Rev. Jeff Curtis officiating.
