Dortha Beatrice “Bea” Geist, 92, of Clarview Rest Home, Sligo, formerly of East Brady, died Saturday.

Born April 20, 1920, in Timblin, Jefferson County, she was the daughter of Lawrence O. and Minnie Alta (Shaffer) Minich.

In July 1940, she married William S. Geist, who preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1975.

She was a Protestant.

Bea was a former member of the American Legion Post 488 Auxiliary, Bradys Bend and a former member of the Bradys Bend Historical Society.

Bea is survived by one brother-in-law, James Bowser Sr. of New Bethlehem; one sister-in-law, Nila Minich of Sligo; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Joanne Murphy and an infant; one granddaughter; one sister; and one brother.

GEIST — Friends of Dortha Beatrice “Bea” Geist, who died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Charles B.
