Floyd D. Beale

Floyd D. Beale passed away at 11:10 a.m. Friday at Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. He was recently a resident at Ridgmont in Ridgway and previously lived in Sarver.

Floyd was born on Feb. 19, 1923, on the Harbison Farm, Buffalo Township. He was the son of the late Ralph Edward Beale and Ethel Jane (Walters) Beale.

He was the widower of Phyllis June (Brothers) Beale, who passed in 1992. Floyd and Phyllis married on Nov. 19, 1947, in the Freeport Gospel Tabernacle in Freeport.

Floyd was a member of Evangel Heights Assembly of God in Sarver. He retired in 1985 as a millwright from PPG Industries in Creighton with 37 years of service. He also had trucking and snow removal businesses, worked with excavating contractor Melvin E. Bachman and with Terry's Towing Service in Brackenridge. He enjoyed working on his cars and trucks, especially his Corvette.

He was a World War II veteran, having served with the 4th Infantry Division, 3rd Reinforcement Depot in the Ardennes and Rhineland battles in the European Theater of Operations. He received the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Purple Heart for wounds received in the Rhineland campaign.

Survived by his son, F. Donald (Kandace) Beale of Kersey, Pa.; one sister, Dorothy (Mrs. James) Hunter of Rockville, Md.; and one brother, Robert G. (Carol) Beale of Lower Burrell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Phyllis, in 1992; one infant daughter, Renee Lucille Beale in 1955; and his sisters, C. Kathleen (Mrs. Clifford) Douthett and Lucille B. (Mrs. Lloyd) Stockton.

BEALE — Family and friends of Floyd D. Beale, who died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Monday with the Rev. Jeff Bogaczyk officiating.Burial will be in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
