Wendelin J. Kriley

Wendelin J. “Wennie” Kriley, 81, of Butler died Thursday at his home.

Born Nov. 19, 1930, in Butler, he was a son of the late Charles and Catherine (Kuhn) Kriley.

Wennie had worked as a pump station operator for the Pennsylvania American Water Co. for 30 years until his retirement in 1992.

He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman and enjoyed square dancing.

Surviving are his wife, Garnet L. (Hinchberger) Kriley, who he married Aug. 24, 1949; two sons, Patrick (Elizabeth) Kriley of Cherry Valley and Douglas (Tina) Kriley of Butler; four daughters, Deanna (Rick) Cetti of Butler, Darla Lovich of Butler, Denise (Edward) Knauff of Zelienople and Dawn (Ted) Birckbichler of Butler; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bernard (Joan) Kriley of Butler; and four sisters, Elizabeth Kriley of Butler; Sr. Mary Kriley D.P. of Allison Park, Sr. Mary Providence D.P. of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and Teresa (Arthur) Portzer of Vienna, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

KRILEY — Friends of Wendelin J. “Wennie” Kriley, who died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. Internment will follow in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery.
