Larry P. Benton, 71, of Steamboat Springs, Col., formerly of Valencia, died Wednesday at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Cranberry Township.

Larry was born March 22, 1941, in Kittanning.

He was a self-employed entrepreneur, an avid road cyclist and a member of Toastmasters International.

Surviving are his wife, Jean McGeever Benton, who he married on April 1, 1967; a daughter, Mikie Benton of Valencia, and three sons, Jay Benton of Steamboat Springs, Col., Andy Benton of Park City, Utah, and Tom Benton of Hilo, Hawaii.

BENTON— A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Larry P. Benton, who died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at 125 Deer Meadow Lane, Valencia.A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Kilian Church at the corner of Clark and Cherry streets in Mars.
