Harry Milton Taylor

Harry Milton Taylor, 77, of Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, passed away Sunday at the Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, Mercer County.

He was born in Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, April 3, 1935, to Howard Raymond Taylor and Mabel Alma McConnell.

He married Shirley J. Shaffer on June 8, 1970.

He was born and raised on the family farm in Slippery Rock where he worked for many years.

Early in his career, he drove a milk truck and a coal truck. He then drove a school bus and was an auto mechanic for Snyder Garage in Slippery Rock. Later he went to work for Slippery Rock University where he was head mechanic. He also drove the snow plow truck at the university. He retired from the university in 1979.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his grandson. He was a Protestant.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley J. Taylor of Slippery Rock; three daughters, Linda J. Kopetsky (Ricky) of Latrobe, Barbara S. Green (Mike) of Largo, Fla., and Debra M. Yohe (Jon) of Grove City; five grandchildren, Brian R. Taylor (Kaydi), Nathan R. Kopetsky, Rachel L. Kopetsky, Michael D. Green and Amanda A. Green; one brother, Howard C. Taylor of Slippery Rock; and one sister, Mary Boothe of Gloucester, Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Raymond; and a brother, Clarence.

TAYLOR — Private services for Harry Milton Taylor, who passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, will be observed. There will be no public viewing or visitation. He will be interred in Slippery Rock Cemetery.Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Memorial contributions may be made to Slippery Rock Fire and Rescue, P.O.
