Sara J. Bowers

Sara J. Bowers, 79, of Valencia, Middlesex Township, died Friday evening at the Good Samaritan Hospice House, in Wexford.

Born in Pittsburgh on May 1, 1933, she was the daughter of the late William and Pauline Block Wilson.

She was a member of the Crossroads Presbyterian Church.

She was a retired secretary at North Hills Passavant Hospital and the Bakerstown Presbyterian Church.

Her husband, Frank Bowers, preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 2011. She also was preceded in death by one sister, JoAnn Hoffman.

Surviving are one daughter, Debbie Leroy and her husband, Larry, of Cranberry Township; two sons, Frank Bowers Jr. and his wife, Marjorie, of Gibsonia and Robert Bowers of Penn Township; one brother, Thomas Wilson and his wife, Florence, of Gibsonia; five grandchildren, Frank, Jennifer, Emily, Mike and Kelly; and two great-grandchildren, Evan and Mara.

BOWERS — Friends of Sara J. Bowers, who died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Stephen Cramer, pastor of Crossroads Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Royal Cemetery, Shaler Township.Directions and condolences available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
