Lois Juanita Schmeider

Lois Juanita Schmeider, 81, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Sunnyview Home.

She was born Dec. 4, 1930, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late James Monroe Thompson and Catherine (Mortimer) Thompson.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking and most of all being a mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Robert A. Schmeider; a daughter, Jane Hodak of Butler; four sons, Robert Schmeider of Bonita Springs, Fla., Tom (Amy) Schmeider of Butler, Paul (Paula) Schmeider of Slippery Rock and David (Tracy) Schmeider of Butler; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary (George) Yockim of San Diego, Calif., and Ruth Cygan of Butler.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

SCHMEIDER — Friends of Lois Juanita Schmeider, who passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 6 p.m. until the time of the service at 8 p.m. Friday.
