David Kindler
David Kindler of East Liberty died Friday.
He is the beloved husband of Barbara Hosack Kindler and the father of Cheri Kindler, Mark (Ashby) Kindler, Dan Kindler and the late Richard Kindler.
Mr. Kindler was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Carnegie Tech, now Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, with a bachelor’s in chemical engineering.
In his early years, he was in construction with his father, Itic Kindler, and worked on many projects in the Pittsburgh area including Poale Zedeck Synagogue in Squirrel Hill. Mr. Kindler worked at Spang and Co. for more than 30 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman hiking the trails with his best friend Henry Posner.
Mr. Kindler is survived by his sister Miriam (Paul) Zelman and predeceased his brother, Joseph Kindler. He was “Grandpa Dave” to Brooke, Rebecca and Snowden Kindler, who survive him, along with nieces and nephews.
KINDLER — Services for David Kindler, who died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, will be held at RALPH SCHUGAR CHAPEL, 5509 Centre Ave., Shadyside, at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
