Robert Lee Heichel, 91, of Butler passed away at 2:02 a.m. Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Butler, the son of the late Clair Henry Heichel and Elizabeth Jane (Gold) Heichel.

Robert was a member of the Community Alliance Church. He was very active in Gospel Tent ministry and Bible booklet ministry. He also traveled with RVIC ministry and donated his house and property to Hope House Ministries of Adonai.

Robert had been a welding inspector at Pullman Standard, Butler.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the USS Wilson during World War II.

Robert is survived by his eight children, including three daughters, Susan (Dennis) Protzman of Butler, Christine (Wendell) Uhl of Mayville, Mich., and Rebecca McCrackin of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sons, Harry Dodds of Butler, Larry (Lynn) Dodds of Virginia, Stanley (Cecelia) Dodds of Butler, Douglas (Cindy) Dodds of Butler and Brian (Kimberly) Dodds of Chicora; 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie (Mitchell) Dodds Heichel, who died Oct. 9, 2004; two brothers; and three sisters.

HEICHEL— Friends of Robert Lee Heichel, who passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W.
