SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University field hockey team finished the season ranked ninth in Division II by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association .
The Rock was 8-10 this season, winning as many as eight games for the first time since 1998. Eight of SRU’s 10 losses came against teams ranked at No. 3 or better during the season.
SRU’s Malischak joins Senior GameSLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University senior field hockey standout Gabrielle Malischak has been selected to play in the NFHCA North/South Senior Game Nov. 10 at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.The midfielder had two goals, four assists and five defensive saves this season. She will be one of 19 players on the South squad.

SRU volleyball drops 4th straight SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University volleyball team dropped its fourth consecutive decision Tuesday, falling to Wheeling Jesuit 25-18, 25-14, 25-20.Caroline Houston had six kills and nine digs, Janna Reilly 11 assists, Hannah McShea 12 digs and Hayley Wilson four blocks for the Rock (14-15).
