Pane

Peter T. Pane, 83, of Saxonburg, formerly of Harwick, Springdale Township, passed away Thursday surrounded by his family at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, Cabot.

Born Pietro Tommaso Pane on March 21, 1929, in Sharpsburg, he was the son of Vincenzo “James” Pane and Thomasine “Susie” Palazzo Pane.

Pete served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as an airplane mechanic. He had worked as a machinist for Westinghouse Electric Co. in Cheswick, retiring in 1994. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, a former president of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1914 and a former president of IBEW International EM-1 Council. He enjoyed traveling, his family and his Yorkie, Rosie.

He is survived by two sons, James (Lynne) Pane of Cranberry Township and Peter T. (Phyllis) Pane II of Cheswick; three daughters, Sandra (Ronald) Radocay of The Woodlands, Texas, Deborah (Gary) Salada of North Huntingdon Township and Charlene (James) Borland of Saxonburg; one daughter-in-law, Louise Slesinski Kelly of West Deer Township; one brother, Salvatore “Sam” Pane of Morningside; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Marie Rose Vogtsberger Pane, who died Sept. 22, 2007; one daughter, Bonnie Lynn Pane; and one son, Joseph S. Slesinski.

PANE — Friends of Peter T. Pane, who died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot, with the Rev. Barry Keurulainen officiating.
