SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University junior quarterback Nigel Barksdale has been named the PSAC-Western Division football Offensive Athlete of the Week.
Barksdale completed 15 of 22 passes for 283 yards and a touchdown and also rushed for 119 yards and another score in The Rock's 28-26 upset of host California (Pa.) University on Saturday.
The Pittsburgh Huskies U16AA hockey team moved its record to 3-0 with a 4-0 victory over the Steel City Renegades recently.Goalie Clay Bachman earned the shutout with 19 saves.
