SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University junior quarterback Nigel Barksdale has been named the PSAC-Western Division football Offensive Athlete of the Week.

Barksdale completed 15 of 22 passes for 283 yards and a touchdown and also rushed for 119 yards and another score in The Rock's 28-26 upset of host California (Pa.) University on Saturday.

The Pittsburgh Huskies U16AA hockey team moved its record to 3-0 with a 4-0 victory over the Steel City Renegades recently.Goalie Clay Bachman earned the shutout with 19 saves. Dustin Davis had two goals, while Cam Williams and Nick Makozy also scored.Assists went to Rick Dengler, Christian Miller, Connor Scott, Williams and Makozy.
