PITTSBURGH — Former Pittsburgh Steelers center Chukky Okobi is due in court for a preliminary hearing on assault charges stemming from an incident in August.

Online court records say Okobi is scheduled to appear before a Pittsburgh judge on Thursday afternoon. Details of the alleged assault were not immediately available.

Okobi was not arrested but instead charged by summons with five counts of simple assault, a misdemeanor.
