Bernard A. Hetrick
Bernard A. Hetrick, 92, of Butler passed away at 6:35 a.m. Saturday at his home.
He was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Kellersburg, Armstrong County, to the late Boyd T. Hetrick and Ferol L. Anthony Hetrick.
Mr. Hetrick was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving during World War II.
He retired as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for W.L. Roe. He had worked for various other companies during his career.
Mr. Hetrick was a Protestant, an avid gardener and liked woodworking.
Mr. Hetrick is survived by one son, Paul Robert Hetrick of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Drena Marie Hetrick of Sparks, Nev.; two granddaughters, Kari Steele of Sparks, Nev., and Karla Hilliard of Butler; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Edna Decker and her husband. Russell, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Anna L. Gerano of New Bethlehem; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, H. Claire (Rhea) Hetrick, who he married Oct. 8, 1944, and who passed away Sept. 1, 2003; one daughter, Valerie Ferol Hetrick; three brothers; and one sister.
HETRICK —Friends of Bernard A. Hetrick, who passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Stephen M.
