Ruth M. McAndrew
Ruth M. McAndrew, 88, of Butler died early Sunday morning at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born in Butler on Sept. 4, 1924, a daughter of the late Herman A. and Marie Gilgchrist Stutz.
Ruth was a 1942 graduate of Butler High School and a retired supervisor at the Bell Telephone Co., Butler office, where she worked for 14 years.
A member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler and the Order of Alhambra in Butler, she was an avid card player and was well known for her wonderful sense of humor.
She was the widow of James J. “Gene” McAndrew. They married on June 23, 1956, and he died July 20, 1998. She also was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Surviving are her brother, William Stutz of Meridian; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Stutz and Phyllis Heaton, both of Butler; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
MCANDREW — Family and friends of Ruth M. Stutz McAndrew, who died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, are invited to a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Following cremation, inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Butler. There will not be a visitation.
The St. Paul Catholic Women group will recite the rosary at 9:40 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Cremation services were provided by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
