Larry N. Dupe Sr., 65, of Butler died Monday at his home of heart complications.

He was born in Butler on Jan. 23, 1947, and was a son of Rosina Horstman Dupe and the late Nick Dupe.

Larry worked at Pullman Standard until the plant closed in 1982. He then moved to Charleston, S.C., where he was a welder in the shipbuilding yards.

A former member of the East Butler Fireman’s Club since his return to Butler, he served as a volunteer with Catholic Charities at the community dinners at the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two children, Elaine (Michael “Tony”) Daviduk of Chicora and Larry N. Dupe, Jr. (Kristin) of Butler; six grandchildren, Julia Azzarello, Anthony and Paige Daviduk and Emma, Madison and Sophie Dupe; one brother, James (Laura) Dupe of Butler; and four sisters, Patricia Orloski (Kenneth), Linda Orth (William), Darlene Pizor and Tammy Dupe, all of Butler.

He was preceded in death by a brother and an infant sister.

DUPE — Friends of Larry N. Dupe Sr., who died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A memorial service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations can be sent to his family in care of the Geibel Funeral Home to help defray his final expenses.
