LANCASTER — A central Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to one to five years in prison in a crash that killed five motorcyclists and seriously injured a sixth.

The Lancaster newspaper says 66-year-old Alfred Moore of Harrisburg was sentenced Wednesday in Lancaster County Court.

He pleaded guilty last summer to homicide by vehicle and reckless endangerment in the June 2010 crash on Route 72 in Penn Township.

Authorities said Moore, who has diabetes, had severely low blood sugar and was driving erratically before the accident.

Killed were 48-year-old Samuel and Linda Lapp, 43-year-old Dennis Wilhelm and his 50-year-old wife Amy, and 27-year-old Joshua Pennington.

Moore asked for forgiveness saying he thinks about the tragedy daily.
