Today you would be 47. Never in a million years did we ever imagine that we would be celebrating it without you. No birthday bonfire with your buddies. This year it will only be memories of past ones. We miss you so very much.

It is so hard for us to comprehend the reality that you will not be coming home. You looked so strong and healthy. You worked so hard and never skipped a beat until that horrible night of April 13th, 2012.

If only I knew that when I went to bed after watching the hockey game with you that that would be the last time I would look into your beautiful eyes. And when the boys came home and saw you asleep in front of the TV did they ever imagine an hour later our world would change forever.

DJ tried so hard to keep you with us but it was your time. I hope you felt my hand on your cheek and you knew we were there with you when you took your last breath and Jesus took you Home. God gave us that moment that we will cherish knowing you were not alone.

You were our provider and hero. We thank you for loving us in your own special way. Cody says “Hey Fred”. Now go rest high on that mountain until we see you again.
