LOCK HAVEN — Slippery Rock University senior cross-country standout Stephanie Case, who has won all four races the school has entered, has earned her second PSAC Athlete of the Week award.Case captured the SRU Invitational, winning by 44 seconds and leading The Rock to its second team title of the year.Clayton Master, the SRU men’s soccer goalie, was named the PSAC men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week after posting two shutouts last week.The Rock settled for two overtime ties, giving Master 110 scoreless minutes. He made seven saves against Bloomsburg and three against East Stroudsburg.
ASHBURN, Va. — Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan says “right now it looks good” that Robert Griffin III will be able to play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.Shanahan said Griffin was experiencing no dizziness, headaches or vomiting Monday, a day after the No. 2 overall draft pick suffered a concussion in a loss to the Atlanta Falcons.Shanahan emphasized that Griffin will have to go through a series of tests to satisfy the NFL's return-to-play protocol. If there are any setbacks during the testing, the coach almost certainly will start Kirk Cousins or Rex Grossman against the Vikings.Griffin was knocked out in the third quarter against the Falcons on a legal hit by linebacker Sean Weatherspoon.

CINCINNATI — Bengals running back Bernard Scott will miss the rest of the season with an injured left knee.Scott got hurt during a 17-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday when the leg bent awkwardly as he was tackled. He later rode a stationary bicycle on the sideline, hoping to go back into the game.Instead, he was examined for a torn ligament and didn't return. The Bengals wouldn't say what the exam found but did put him on injured reserve Monday, ending his season.
TEMPE, Ariz. — The Arizona Cardinals' already embattled ground game has taken a severe blow with the announcement that running back Ryan Williams is out for the season with a left shoulder injury that will require surgery.The Cardinals already are without Beanie Wells until at least Thanksgiving weekend because of a severe turf toe injury.
