CEO to oversee Catholic schools

PHILADELPHIA — An educational consultant and former charter management company leader has been chosen to head the private foundation that manages Roman Catholic high schools in the Philadelphia area.

The church-affiliated Faith in the Future Foundation announced Monday that Samuel Casey Carter will serve as its chief executive officer of the foundation, overseeing 17 high schools and four special education schools.

The Philadelphia-area high schools were formerly overseen by the archdiocese’s Office of Catholic Education. The schools still get religious and academic curricula from that office, but administrators report to the foundation. Elementary schools continue to be managed by the parishes.
