Nancy Anna Brodmerkel Raybold

Our loving Mom, Nancy Anna Brodmerkel Raybold, of Mtn. Lake Park, Md., formerly of Valencia, passed away Friday from her battle with Pick’s disease, Frontoltemporal Dementia. She was 69.

Nancy was a 1961 graduate of Shaler High School. She then received her associate degree from Robert Morris. Upon graduation, Nancy became a flight attendant for United Airlines.

In 1968, she married her husband of 42 years, William “Bill” Raybold and left the airline industry. She joined Bill for the daily commute into Pittsburgh and became the secretary for the CEO of Consolidated Natural Gas.

After the birth of her first child, Nancy took on the most important position of her career becoming a full-time mother. She spent the next 20 years in that role, dedicating her life to her children, father, husband, siblings, friends and church.

Prior to moving from Valencia, Nancy was a 40-year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, the church’s Circle 4 and United Airlines’ Clipped Wings.

Nancy was born April 29, 1943, and was the daughter of William A. and Pearl E. Brodmerkel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Raybold, and her brother, Bill Brodmerkel.

She is survived by her son, JR and his wife, Jen; her daughter, Heather and her husband, Matt; her grandchildren, Tyler, Erik and Cameron; and several nieces and nephews.

RAYBOLD — Friends of Nancy Anna Brodmerkel Raybold, who passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, will be received at the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, 5825 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday followed by a celebration of life at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, P.O. Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550, or to the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown.

Newman Funeral Homes, 203 S. Second St., Oakland, Md., is in charge of the arrangements.
