Stephen Schwartz

Stephen Schwartz, 95, formerly of Bredin Avenue, Butler, died Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born in Lyndora, he was a son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Fezler) Schwartz.

He had worked in the strip coating department for the Armco steel plant in Butler, retiring in 1972 after 32 years.

A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 249 in Butler.

Surviving are his two sons, David M. Schwartz of Rhode Island and John J. Schwartz of Minnesota; two daughters, Ilona Mae (Hurley) Meeks of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Charmaine E. (John) Bradley of Lexington, S.C.; three grandchildren; and one brother, Robert J. Schwartz of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

SCHWARTZ — Private services for Stephen Schwartz, who died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, were held for his family. Burial was in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.Arrangements were by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
