Charles Sholes Sr., 74, of Butler died Friday afternoon at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 25, 1938, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Charles and Pauline (Casper) Sholes.

Surviving are his wife, Naomi Sholes; one son, Chuck Sholes of Butler; one daughter, Deborah (Edward) Cranmer of Chicora; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Sholes, who died in February 1992.

SHOLES — Family and friends of Charles Sholes Sr., who died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, will gather at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
