Raymond D. Double
Raymond D. Double, 82, of Boyers passed away at 8:07 a.m. Wednesday at VA Butler Healthcare.
He was born Jan. 18, 1930, in Clay Township. He was the son of the late Hoyt R. Double and the late Viola Jane Christley Double.
He was married to Louise Hilliard Double, who preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2004.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 243 in West Sunbury.
He retired from Cooper Bessemer in Grove City where he was a machinist with more than 30 years of service.
He is survived by four daughters, Cheryl Kentz of Grove City, Phyllis Anderson, and her husband, David, of Harrisville, Jackie Wallace, and her husband, Dennis, of Harrisville and Kim Bodien and her husband, Matt, of Sharon; one son, Kenneth Raymond Double of Boyers; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. One brother, Donald L. Double of East Butler, also survives.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, one sister and one brother.
DOUBLE — Friends of Raymond D. Double, who passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Updegraff of the Boyers Methodist Church officiating.Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
