William Howard Kennihan, 87, of Peoria, Ariz., formerly of Bakerstown and Valencia, passed away Tuesday.

He was the beloved husband for 69 years of Joan (Szelong) Kennihan; devoted father of William P. (Patricia) Kennihan of Valencia, Linda (Phillip) Watkins of Peoria, Ariz., Anita Kennihan of Valencia and Patrick Kennihan of St. Mary, Fla.; and dear brother of Jack, Bob and Paul Kennihan. He also is survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

He was predeceased by his sister, Claire; son, Daniel; and two grandsons, Daniel Watkins and Zachary Kennihan.

He was the owner and proprietor of Villa Vista Estates, Valencia, for many years before retiring.

He was a communicant of the Holy Sepulcher Church, a member of Knights of Columbus Council 10175 and served as past president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and served as a sergeant with the 13 Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron.

KENNIHAN — The family of William Howard Kennihan, who passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.A Mass of Christian burial in the Holy Sepulcher Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday.
