William Howard Kennihan

William Howard Kennihan, 87, of Peoria, Ariz., formerly of Bakerstown and Valencia, passed away Tuesday.

He was the beloved husband for 69 years of Joan (Szelong) Kennihan; devoted father of William P. (Patricia) Kennihan of Valencia, Linda (Phillip) Watkins of Peoria, Ariz., Anita Kennihan of Valencia and Patrick Kennihan of St. Mary, Fla.; and dear brother of Jack, Bob and Paul Kennihan. He also is survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

He was predeceased by his sister, Claire; son, Daniel; and two grandsons, Daniel Watkins and Zachary Kennihan.

He was the owner and proprietor of Villa Vista Estates, Valencia, for many years before retiring.

He was a communicant of the Holy Sepulcher Church, a member of Knights of Columbus Council 10175 and served as past president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and served as a sergeant with the 13 Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron.

KENNIHAN — The family of William Howard Kennihan, who passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.A Mass of Christian burial in the Holy Sepulcher Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Herman.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Knights of Columbus Council 10175, 6215 Old Route 8, Butler, PA 16002.Please offer a personal tribute at www.schellhaasfh.com.
