Night paving to start on Rt. 228

ADAMS TWP — Night paving will start at 8 p.m. Thursday and continue overnight through 6 a.m. Friday on State Road 228 as part of the Mars Railroad Bridge replacement project, PennDOT announced this morning.

Work will include a two-foot temporary widening of the road’s eastbound shoulder for about 2,200 feet beginning near the east side of the Mars Railroad Bridge over the railroad tracks and ending just beyond the car wash.

Flaggers will be in place during the paving, according to the state Department of Transportation.

There will be no nighttime paving Friday, but it will continue next week until the shoulder widening is finished.
