Albert J. Miller Jr.

Albert J. Miller Jr., 81, of the Chicora Medical Center, formerly of East Brady, died Sunday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born July 23, 1931, in Philadelphia, he was the son of Albert J. and Helen E. (Bauer) Miller.

Al was a 1949 graduate of Overbrook High School in Philadelphia.

On April 10, 1976, he married Adeline M. “Toots” (Farone) Miller, who survives.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, he served with the 306th Field Maintenance Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida.

He was employed with Boeing as a helicopter mechanic for 23 years in Philadelphia. Later, Al and Toots owned and operated the Tootsy Roll Inn in Bradys Bend for nine years. During those years, they sponsored a softball team that won numerous trophies.

Al was a former member of the East Brady Volunteer Fire Department and the American Legion Post 488, Bradys Bend.

Al was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing cards and was an animal lover.

Surviving are his wife, Adeline “Toots” Miller of East Brady; two sons, Francis and his wife, Anne Marie, Miller of Newark, Del., and Michael and his wife, Ginny, Miller of Satellite Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Robert Miller of New Jersey and Donald and his wife, Fran, Miller of Glenside; one brother-in-law, Joseph and his wife, Mary Jo, Farone of Chicora; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Bortmes of Chicora; four granddaughters, Tara, Ashley, Brittany and Danae; and two grandsons, Francis Jr. and Michael Jr. Al also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Albert J. Miller III; and one brother, John Miller.

MILLER — Friends of Albert J. Miller Jr., who died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home, 105 Fourth St., East Brady.A parish prayer service will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The American Legion Post 488 will conduct a memorial service at 6 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. William Kuba officiating.Burial in the St. Mary Cemetery, Bradys Bend, will be private.The family of Al Miller suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be sent to the East Brady Ambulance Service, P.O.
