Michael C. Birckbichler

Michael C. Birckbichler, 62, husband of Barbara J. “Bobbi” (Diesinger) Birckbichler, of Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, formerly of Butler, died Saturday at his home.

Mr. Birckbichler was born Aug. 20, 1949, in Wheeling, W.Va., grew up in Butler, and was a son of Bettia (Cobb) Birckbichler of Butler and the late Wendel Birckbichler.

He served as a specialist 4th class and military policeman with the 503rd MP Company, U.S. Army, Germany.

Mr. Birckbichler was a self-employed building contractor. He previously was a sergeant and detective with the Lower Providence Township Police Department in Montgomery County.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Birckbichler is survived by his stepson, Shane D. Lawrence and his wife, Anastasia (Koukoltsios) Lawrence of Blandon, Berks County; his grandchildren, Cassandra Lawrence and Christopher Lawrence; his brothers, Joseph and his wife, Patricia, Birckbichler of Butler, Phillip and his wife, Barbara, Birckbichler of Butler, Stephen and his wife, Donna, Birckbichler of Chicora and Jeffrey and his wife, Patricia, Birckbichler of Butler; and his sister, Barbara Ippolito, of Charleston, Ill.

Birckbichler— A memorial service for Michael C. Birckbichler, who died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, will be at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holcombe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Trappe, Montgomery County, with the Rev. Jose “Ricky” Ayala, pastor of the Conshohocken United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Suite 300, 4899 Belfort Road, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
