Jeffrey J. Browne
Jeffrey J. Browne, 55, of Grove City passed away at 10:40 a.m. Sunday at the St. Elizabeth Select Specialty Hospital, Youngstown, following an extended illness.
He was born in Butler, May 28, 1957, to Homer K. Browne and L. June Evans Browne.
He married Lori S. Sterrett on Dec. 16, 1978.
Jeff retired in October 2006 from the Office of Personnel Management, Boyers, where he was employed for 29 years. Also, he operated Jeff Browne's Notary Service from his home for many years.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City, where he was a trustee for four years.
Jeff was a graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1975, and attended Vanderbilt University. He enjoyed flying and playing horseshoes, and he played in an annual Super Bowl poker tournament with his friends. Formerly he coached midget football in East Butler and Moniteau schools, and he served on the Grove City Juvenile Community Court in 1999.
Surviving are his wife, Lori, at home in Grove City; two daughters, Megan Browne and Stephanie Browne, both of Grove City; and one grandson, Atley Browne-Elder of Grove City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, H. Kenneth and David L. Browne; and one sister, S. Colleen Spohn.
BROWNE — A memorial service for Jeffrey J. Browne, who passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, will be at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 819 Columbia Ave., Grove City, at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. James M. Seeley, pastor of the church, officiating. Jeff's family will receive friends in the church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday.The burial will be in Mount Irwin Cemetery, Irwin Township, Venango County.Arrangements are entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home, Grove City.
