James D. Yahn
James D. Yahn, 48, of Big Beaver Township, Wampum, formerly of Harrisville, Pittsburgh and Apopka, Fla., passed away July 29 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a one-year illness.
Jim was born in Grove City, March 9, 1964, to Edwin D. and Hazel L. Grinnen Yahn. He grew up in the Harrisville area and was raised as a Methodist. He was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School, Class of 1982.
Throughout his life, Jim worked in retail sales. Formerly, he was a store manager of Starbucks and managed stores in downtown Pittsburgh, Florida and Illinois. While at Starbucks, he received many humanitarian awards given by the company and the city of Pittsburgh.
Jim enjoyed plants, gardening, cooking, cars and dogs. He was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan.
He is survived by his parents, Ed and Hazel Yahn of Harrisville; one sister, Deborah L. Glenn and her husband, Chester, of Harrisville; one brother, Edwin L. Yahn of New Wilmington; two nephews, Ryan Glenn and his fiancée, Rayna Gomez, of Ojo Caliente, N.M., and Nathan Glenn and his wife, Louella, of Sandia Park, N.M.; and two great-nephews, Ethan and Noah Glenn of Sandia Park, N.M.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents and six uncles.
YAHN — A memorial service for James D. Yahn, who passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012, will be at the Grace United Methodist Church, 210 S. Broad St., Grove City at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev.
